(1) The Redlands Tea Party Patriots Salute Martin Luther King for Upholding the Constitution and America’s Founding Principles. 

The Declaration of Independence states: 

---“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” 

This is the foundation of American liberty and the Constitution, which is the foundation agreement for how we govern ourselves as free people. It is the "why" of America. 

The 14th Amendment guarantees due process and equal protection. The 14 Amendment was intended to grant equality before the law to the newly freed slaves. 

The 15th Amendment guarantees the right to vote could not be abridged on account of race.  The 15 Amendment was intended to grant the newly freed slaves the right to vote. 

After the withdrawal of Federal troops from the South in 1877, the Democrats systematically violated the 2nd, 14th and 15th Amendment rights of African Americans.  Other Americans, including the courts, allowed this to happen until beginning in the 1950s.

Dr. King recognized this stating in his famous “I have a dream” speech:

--“When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir.  This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” 

--“The natural progress of things is for liberty to yeild, and government to gain ground. ”Thomas Jefferson [“Yeild” is Jefferson’s spelling.] 

--“In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” Thomas Jefferson

The experience of African Americans shows the importance of the Tea Party principle of “constitutionally limited government.”  Unless government is firmly bound by the Constitution, no one’s rights and freedom are secure.

Martin Luther King’s “dream” should be the dream of all Americans

Martin Luther King’s most famous quote is: 

---“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” 

This is “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.”  This is the basic Christian principle that all people are equal before the Cross.  This is E pluribus unum.   

Most Americans embrace Martin Luther King’s dream.  While some people, of all races, are prejudiced, most Americans good, decent, fair minded people who do not care one iota about your skin color.

Racism is judging or treating people based on the color of their skin.  The Dem Party policies of CRT; diversity, inclusion & equity; racial preferences; open, explicit anti white bigotry and hatred, are all based on judging and treating people based on the color of their skin or other Dem Party assigned identity group characteristics.  

When Obama took office, majorities of blacks and whites believed race relations in America were getting better.  When Obama left office, majorities of blacks and whites and race relations were getting worse, and is change was intentional.

Other the other hand, Donald Trump and his supporters are the true heirs to Martin Luther King's “dream.” We don't care one iota about the color of your skin. We care about your character, beliefs, actions and accomplishments.

Therefore, on this MLK Day, let us renew our commitment to Martin Luther King’s dream, “all men are created equal,” and E pluribus unum.  Let’s reject the Dem Party’s slippery slope of racial and ethnic division.
